Creating a brighter future together
Our Story and Sustainable Mission
Founded in 2010, Gypco has built a strong reputation in the construction industry, delivering projects ranging from large commercial construction with projects budgets in excess of $100M to small-scale renovations.
Recently, we relocated to East Gippsland and embraced a new direction—transitioning into an organisation dedicated to supporting the community through sustainable building practices. We have learned that high quality finish along with longevity building is the key to long lasting homes and structures.
This shift was driven by our commitment to creating meaningful change. Instead of focusing on profit, we wanted to use our skills to help people with their building needs while reinvesting earnings into community groups. By giving back, we aim to create a circular economy that strengthens and supports the region.
At Gypco, we believe in building with the planet, not against it. Sustainability and innovation are at the heart of everything we do. We are dedicated to minimising waste, repurposing materials whenever possible, and pushing the boundaries of environmentally responsible construction. Our team embraces the latest advancements in green building, ensuring every project aligns with our mission to be more regenerative and resource-conscious.
Finding a building crew that shares your low-waste and sustainability goals can be challenging. If you’re looking for professional, environmentally conscious tradies who truly listen to your vision, Gypco is the team for you.
With experience in Earth Ships, off-grid homes, tiny houses, extensions, renovations, and contemporary new builds, we take pride in thoughtful design, sustainable material choices, and clear communication. Our goal is to make every build a stress-free, high-quality experience while ensuring a positive impact on both people and the environment.
If you’re ready to bring your sustainable project to life, Gypco is here to make it happen.
Meet the Team

Jason Rahilly
Director & Licensed Builder
Jason is the Director and a licensed builder in Queensland with 15 years experience in site management.
Passionate about sustainability, he is also the founder and director of B-Alternative, an environmental consultancy group.
With a background in project management for large companies, Jason saw firsthand the environmental impact and excessive waste often prioritised in large-scale developments. Seeking a more ethical approach, he shifted his focus to domestic buildings and sustainable developments, aligning his work with the philosophy of “Building With the Planet.”
Jason brings hands-on expertise and a commitment to responsible construction, ensuring projects meet both environmental and client values. When he’s not on-site, he enjoys cricket, surfing, animals, camping and spending time in nature.

Esther Gatnau
Construction Manager & Environmental Scientist
Esther has been part of Gypco as a carpenter for four years and now plays a key role as Construction Manager,
bringing her passion for sustainability and conservation into the company’s new non-profit direction.
Alongside her leadership role, she will also be working on-site with the Gypco projects, applying her hands-on carpentry skills to bring sustainable building practices to life. As an Environmental Scientist, she is deeply committed to protecting the environment and minimising waste making her an invaluable part of Gypco’s mission to build with the planet in mind.
Apart from her passion for carpentry, she works for various non-profit organisations in East Gippsland to drive impactful environmental change.
Esther lives in an off-grid tiny home, fully embracing sustainable living. She is originally from Catalonia and travels there to visit her family whenever she can. A dedicated wildlife rescuer, she has spent years volunteering for environmental causes and loves immersing herself in nature.

Turi Rahilly
Project Manager
Turi has been the head Project Manager
at Gypco for nine years. With 15 years of experience as a carpenter he is deeply committed to his craft, bringing a keen eye for detail, problem-solving expertise, and creative solutions to every project.
Beyond carpentry, Turi’s passion for his work has led him to self-teach skills in tiling, plastering, and basic plumbing, making him a versatile and resourceful professional. Sustainability is at the core of his approach—not just in construction but in his personal life as well.
Turi is a master of repurposing materials, transforming them into high-quality finishes that look and feel professional. He takes pride in mentoring apprentices, passing on his knowledge, and ensuring that every job is completed to the highest standard.
Known for his personable nature and strong negotiation skills, he fosters positive collaborations across projects. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, camping, and volunteering with wildlife initiatives.

Keri Whitelaw
Accounts & Payroll Manager
Keri has been a valued part of the Gypco family for over six years.
Her journey with the company began with a conversation with Jace’s mum, Mary, followed by a few more chats (and coffees) with Jace himself—leading to what has become a fulfilling role within the team.
As a Registered BAS Agent, Keri manages accounts, payroll, and reimbursements, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Affectionately known as the “Digital Mum” by Jace and simply “K” by the rest of the team, she brings both expertise and warmth to the workplace.
Outside of work, Keri enjoys beach walks, spending time with her family—including her husband and two sons and doting on her dogs. She admits to working a few too many hours but loves what she does. And no matter the season, she’s always up for a good Christmas movie.
